The presentation introduces and unpacks the Anti-Racism Curriculum and Pedagogy Toolkit, well-suited for K-12 and beyond. Faculty at Norquest College created this interdisciplinary resource to help education practitioners integrate anti-racist perspectives into their curriculum, pedagogy, and practice. Participants will receive complimentary copies of the toolkit and briefly explore its relevance in their practice. They will reflect on how to use the toolkit and promote inclusive practices and learning experiences in diverse contexts.Speaker Biography - Benjamin Denga is a University of Alberta alumnus and he serves as Anti-Racism Advisor to the Reimagine Higher Education initiative at NorQuest College. Through his efforts, he helps advance inclusive practices and anti-racist pedagogies in local and global education spheres. As a graduate student, Benjamin had a role in the Dean of Education's Student Advisory Committee for Advancing Racial Justice in the academy. As well, he helped create the Black Graduate Students Association, and under his leadership it was honoured with the 2019 University of Alberta EDI Award as a result of their community impact. Benjamin has led and leads institutional and community-based projects integrating equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism into organizational systems, operations, and their educative practices.
