About this Event
What defines good design? Many say it is solving a problem, but great design begins earlier—by understanding the person who has the problem.
This participatory workshop opens with an “anti-panel,” where storytellers from diverse fields share how deep, empathetic listening reshaped their work.
Attendees will then engage in a two-part, hands-on session: first, crafting consumer interview questions using the Thinks/Feels/Says/Does empathy framework, and then practicing how to translate insights into design prompts, business opportunities, or product decisions.
The workshop will also introduce AI as an analytical tool to help surface themes, while emphasizing the irreplaceable role of human empathy in interpretation.
Led by entrepreneur and consumer insight strategist Erin Cavanaugh, this session equips professionals across design-related disciplines with practical tools to apply immediately to the business of design and innovation.
