We have been waiting to tell you about this!!!In collaboration with Our Colors In Aotearoa (sorry for the misspell in the image) we bring to you our third event in the Body, Pleasure, Decolonisation series. Just like last year we are (still) tired of mainstream Pride Events that are mostly corporate, we are tired of the Pride that wants to conform to the norm instead of questioning it!... so we are organising our own!
The political context in New Zealand and the world is worrying. Hate speech now is the norm in many governments around the world, including New Zealand. We believe that grassroots organisations and collective thinking need to be supported and promoted now more than ever.
That is why we decided to organise this very special and necessary panel, celebrating and reclaiming our fight: from Latin American feminisms to gender and sexual diversity to migrant rights in Aotearoa. We bring to you the panel: Militant Reflections on Women’s Day (8M) and Pride Week by Latin Cuirs and Our Colors in Aotearoa.
The panel includes women and feminine presenting non binary people who will share with us their thoughts through the lense of their own expertise and experience (academic and otherwise).
This event is an EXPLICITLY anti-racist, anti-fascist, sex work positive and TRANS LOVING space. We will not tolerate anyone who tries to hurt or intimidate our communities.
This event is Koha entry and open to the general public. If you are undertaking academic research, support migrant rights and/or are just curious about what we have to say you’re welcome to come!

This event is mostly in English, since our panelists are Spanish speakers there might be times they will use words in Spanish which will then be translated for the audience. In the case there’s someone who speaks Spanish and needs translation this will also be available. Sadly, we won’t be able to provide Portuguese translations or NZSL interpreters at this time (If you know any that work on a sliding scale let us know)

En colaboración con Our Colors in Aotearoa te traemos nuestro tercer evento en la serie de Body,Pleasure, Decolonisation. Tal cómo el año estamos cansades de los eventos del Pride corporativo, el Pride que busca conformarse a la norma en lugar de cuestionarla… ¡así que decidimos organizar nuestros propios eventos!
El contexto político en Nueva Zelandia es preocupante. Discursos de odio son ahora normalizados en gobiernos alrededor del mundo, incluyendo Nueva Zelandia. Pensamos que las organizaciones comunitarias y el pensamiento colectivo deben ser apoyados y promovidos ahora más que nunca.
Es por esto que decidimos organizar este panel celebrando nuestras luchas: Desde feminismos latinoamericanos, a diversidad de género y preferencia sexual hasta derechos de los migrantes. Te traemos el panel: Reflexiones de la militancia en el día de la mujer y la semana de Pride, presentado por Latín Cuirs x Our colors in Aotearoa.
Este panel incluye mujeres y personas no binaries cuya presentación es femenina quienes van a compartir sus experiencias y expertise (académica y no).
Este evento es EXPLICITAMENTE anti-facista y anti racista, sin prejuicios hacia el trabajo sexual y en donde AMAMOS a nuestrxs compañeras, compañeros y compañerxs trans.
Este evento requiere Koha y está abierto al público en general. Si estás haciendo investigación, apoyas los derechos de los migrantes y/o te da curiosidad lo que tenemos que decir ¡eres bienvenidx!

Este evento es mayoritariamente en inglés, pero nuestras panelistas son hispanohablantes por lo que habrá momentos en los que van a necesitar hablar en español, esto será traducido a inglés para los asistentes. Si no hablas inglés muy bien ¡avísanos! y haremos traducciones de inglés a español durante la sesión. Lamentablemente no contaremos con traducción a portugués ó NZSL.
