Saturday May 10th 2025 will be a special night on the Mickey’s Black Box stage as we witness great music from the past, present and future of six of the areas best original rock bands. All celebrating a milestone for one of the most iconic heavy bands from our region still slugging it out in the trenches today… Reading, PA.’s very own Anthrophobia!
Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Anthrophobia! The band have been bringing their eclectic fusion of ROCK, Punk, and Metal to the masses since 1985. This special show will touch upon every era of the band spanning 4 decades of music. Performed by the lineup of Frank Phobia, Brent Black, Dickie Delp and Rob DiJoseph.
From basement shows to the Warped Tour, and playing every size venue in between, alongside a who’s who of one hit wonders to legendary artists…From DIY releases to record deals and major label distribution, releases on cassette, CD, vinyl and digital, Anthrophobia somehow remain relevant and exciting. This timeless band, lead by frontman Frank Phobia are more prolific now than ever after all these years.
Since reuniting in 2015, after a 7 year hiatus from releasing music, the band has delivered four critically acclaimed and well received records. The ‘Going Out Swinging’ album released in Nov. 2024 is the newest offering. The album was produced by J. Robbins (Jawbox/ Clutch/ Local H/ Against Me), with a guest guitar spot by Andee Blacksugar (former ‘Phobia member, current member of Blondie and KMFDM) and cover artwork by iconic rock illustrator Derek Hess. Add in the glorious results of the ‘Rewired’, ‘Grind’, and ‘Altered States’ albums, Anthrophobia are proving they are firing on all creative cylinders and performing at new heights after all these years. The band have found a growing new multigenerational fan base while admittedly having more fun than they ever have in their career. Join us for this special night in the long history of Anthrophobia.
