About this Event
This training will teach workshop participants how to recognize and respond effectively to a drug overdose. Participants will learn the signs and types of an overdose, what to do in each situation, and how to interact with first responders. This training will be led by The Steady Collective, a nonjudgmental, harm reduction agency that provides safer-use supplies, education, and care to folks who use drugs.
About the "Another World Is Possible" Training Series:
“We keep us safe” is a chant you’ll hear at many protests, but what are some of the specific ways an individual can actually do something? This two-part workshop series (Deescalation Training on 7/9, followed by the Narcan/Nalaxone training on 10/13) will teach people concrete tools they can use to create real safety in their communities. Feel free to come to one or both trainings. These workshops are for anyone who ever wished they had more options than calling 911 for every problem. From de-escalation to helping someone experiencing an overdose, these training sessions are designed to empower our community and teach us that - we are who we’ve been waiting for.
“Another world is necessary. Another world is possible. Another world is happening.” - Grace Lee Boggs.
