However, when Vanya’s parents catch wind of the union, they send their henchmen to annul the marriage, setting off a wild chase through the streets of New York.Baker continues to impress as one of the film world’s brightest young filmmakers, following his acclaimed features The Florida Project and Red Rocket, both fabulous. The film also boasts a breakout performance from Madison, who is absolutely electric in the title role. Our VTIFF screening comes just six days after Oscar nominations are announced, and Anora is expected to get plenty of attention.
