Sheep and Meat Goat day is BACK and with a twist! We missed last year for some unforeseen circumstances, but the event is back! We will have activities that cover all species (beef, sheep, swine, meat goats) including a SKILLATHON! WITH AWARDS!!! Here is our general timeline:8:00 AM Registration
9:00 AM Welcome (President Steve Perez)
9:30 AM Keynote - Nutrition and Project Planning, Rhiannon Carlson, Show Time Feeds
10:30 AM Skillathon and workshops
*Swine enthusiasts will have a chance to learn from Haydn Clement, Chico State Alumni and owner/manager of Clement Livestock
*Sheep and goat enthusiasts can learn about the basics needs for newly arrived project animals, training and halter breaking from Chico State Students
*All species can learn by doing by competing in our skillathon (beef cattle and dairy info will be included in the contest)
Noon: Skillathon closes and Lunch
12:30 PM Selection of livestock for projects, Dr. Celina Phillips, Chico State Faculty
1:30 PM Awards for Skillathon
2:00 PM DONE!
