More information and media at http://www.sacgender.org/tdorThe International Transgender Day of Remembrance memorializes those who have lost their lives due to their actual or perceived gender identity and expression. The first memorial was a candlelight vigil in November 1999 to honor Rita Hester, murdered in 1998. Since then, annual memorials have been observed around the world around November 20.
PFLAG Sacramento, TransFamilies Sacramento and Trinity Cathedral are pleased to co-sponsor the 2023 Annual Candlelight Vigil in observance of the International Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 16.
This inclusive community memorial features guest speakers and is open to the Sacramento community and to people of all traditions. Admission is free.
Covid-19 precautions: attendees may choose to wear a protective mask Attendees should have no signs of Covid-19 illness, a positive Covid-19 test, or recent contact with Covid-19.
