The Annual Town Meeting is a community meeting with guest speakers reporting on what their groups have achieved in the past year and what their plans are for the future. Residents are encouraged to contribute to the agenda to celebrate local activities and debate hot topics for the community.
The Annual Town Council Meeting (on the 20th May) is the first meeting of the Council year of which the first piece of business is the election of the Chairman/Mayor and Vice-Chairman; committees and their members are agreed, and council policies are agreed and approved. In effect the Council is ‘stood down’ and reconstructed.
