Dr. Chad A. Kim Sing, Vice President of Medicine and Medical Affairs (Interim), Vancouver Coastal Health



Dr. Chad A. Kim Sing is an executive medical leader, currently serving as the interim Vice President of Medicine and Medical Affairs at Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Authority, overseeing healthcare services for over 1.25 million people across approximately 20 hospitals and care centers with a staff of 25,000 and 3,500 medical professionals. Dr. Kim Sing is a practicing and published academic emergency physician.


 Previously, he held roles as the Department Head and Medical Director of the Emergency Departments at VGH and UBCH.

 

Dr. Kim Sing has played pivotal roles in healthcare leadership, co-leading the VCH's COVID-19 emergency response, serving on the British Columbia Provincial Medical Services Executive Council, and leading the provincial Physician Master Agreement negotiations. He is also an active member of the Health Authority Medical Advisory Committee, and supports regional initiatives like Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and Wellness programs at VCH.

 

As the inaugural fellow and Co-Director of the UBC DEM-Brigham Health-Harvard physician leadership fellowship, Dr. Kim Sing has been instrumental in advancing medical leadership development. He leads the innovative VCH Medical Practitioner Occupational Safety and Health (mPOSH) program, focusing on the well-being of medical staff. Additionally, he is an International Coaching Federation (ICF)-trained organizational and executive coach.

 

Passionate about fostering leadership and collaboration, Dr. Kim Sing champions patient-centered care and improved provider models of care through engagement. A mantra he espouses is relentless decency and he is known for approaching challenges with calm, curiosity, and compassionate leadership
