Event Description:
Join Andover Trees United and local schools for our Annual Schools’ Tree Planting at Bury Hill Meadows Nature Reserve. This year marks the fourth and final year of planting at Bury Hill, offering a special opportunity to leave a lasting legacy for the local community and the environment. 🌳
Students, volunteers, and local residents will help plant native trees and hedgerows, learning about biodiversity, ecosystems, and conservation along the way. Every helping hand counts!
Volunteer Roles:
- 8:00 am: Set-up Team
- 8:45 am – 12:30 pm: Morning Planting Support
- 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm: Afternoon Planting Support
What to Bring:
- Gardening gloves (provided if needed)
- Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for mud
- Packed lunch if staying all day
Facilities:
- Porta-loos & hand-washing stations
- Hot drinks & biscuits
- Gazebo shelter
- Limited on-site parking (car-sharing, walking, or cycling encouraged)
- Entrance marked by colourful flags
Who Can Join:
- Volunteers aged 12+ (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult)
- Work alongside school staff and ATU team members for safe, smooth sessions
