2024 Annual Island Lake Boat Parade.UPDATED 6-20-24
This event is 100 percent FREE!
We will assemble out front of the Island Lake Dam at 9:30am. Look for Ryan and Bobbie Underthun in the 1960 Century Resorter (Wood Boat on the cover picture) as they will lead the parade starting at 10am. Please don't be late or forget to decorate your boat. The plan is to follow the west shore, then turn left and follow the south west shore towards beer can island. We will take the channel on the left-hand side of the island (where the ski course is setup) and then take a sharp right after the point. The parade will end where the band on the barge is playing starting at noon. The map is posted.
A few rules.
#1. VERY IMPORTANT. Safety is key in this event. Please keep a safe distance from the boat in front of you, the shore, docks, and others.
#2. All boating regulations must be observed.
#3. Absolutely no towing of any kind during the parade including but not limited to towable tubes, kayaks, rafts, paddle boats, paddle boards or any other towable object.
Trophies and prizes will be given based on 5 categories.
*Most patriotic (best patriotic decorated)
*Most creative (most creative overall)
*Best non-pontoon
*Judges favorite (whatever the judges like the best)
*Best dressed crew
Judges will be positioned on the point towards the end of the route. We will hand out numbers at the beginning of the parade for you to post on the starboard (Right Hand) side of your boat. It is very important that your number is posted when you go by the judges.
The trophies and prizes will be announced following the parade at the barge where the band will be playing. Jason Manning will be doing the presentation and handing out the awards, Ryan may help.
