About this Event
The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission’s Annual Human Rights Lecture 2026 will take place from 4-6pm on Thursday 26th of February at The Bar Library, Royal Courts of Justice, Belfast, and online.
We are delighted to announce Sir Tim Eicke KCMG KC, former Judge of the European Court of Human Rights in respect of the United Kingdom, as the keynote speaker.
Before he became a judge at the Court, Tim was considered one of the leading advocates at the Bar of England and Wales, focussing on international and domestic disputes involving public international, European Union, International Human Rights and Public and Constitutional Law. He was knighted in the 2026 New Year’s Honours List for “services to the protection of Human Rights in Europe”.
The event will also include an opening address from the Lady Chief Justice, the Right Honourable Dame Siobhan Keegan.
A reception will be held following the speakers.
