Annual Gathering 2024

As-Salāmu 'Alaykum Wa Raḥmatu Llāhi Wa Barakātuhu.

By the Grace of God, we are pleased to announce the 2024 Summer Gathering. 

The Gathering will be held August 1-5, 2024 at the Rockwood Manor located in Potomac, Maryland.   

This Gathering is a unique and blessed opportunity to benefit from the presence of our revered Master, Shaykh Hossein (hafidhahu ‘Llāh), his senior functionaries, and many of our brothers and sisters on the Path from across the world.  

In addition to this spiritual companionship, the fuqarā will gather daily for evening majālis and will have the opportunity to attend presentations on spiritual doctrine and method, as well as other topics of interest.  Shaykh Hossein has described this Gathering as a, "time out of time" and strongly encourages all of his fuqarā to do everything within their means to attend.

Registering for the Gathering:

We are offering all friends to register, which includes payment, until and by July 1, 2024. This date is the final deadline for registration so that we can meet the payment deadline in our contract with the retreat center. 

Registrations will be considered complete once the payment is made. 

(In the event you need to cancel a registration, you will receive a full refund until July 15, 2024; after this deadline, our venue will have already committed to accepting your lodging and meal expenses and we will be unable to issue a refund).

PLEASE NOTE: 

We have limited on site bedroom type accommodations, these rooms are similar to hotel rooms spread across three small cabins on site, and many of them will be shared rooms. If you opt to stay onsite, in part or full, a member of registration team will assign you a room, and communicate with you a week or so in advance of the start of the gathering to inform you of your room assignment 

However, if you are younger, and intend to stay onsite, and don't mind "roughing it" for the sake of allowing an elder friend or friends with children to use the bedroom type accommodation, we request that you consider registering for the onsite bunk bed accommodation option. 

Those who opt to register to stay off-site can book a hotel/airbnb nearby if they prefer hotel type accommodations over bunk beds at their own cost and should register as a commuter. ALSO PLEASE NOTE: In years past we have provided customized options to accommodate people who only attended a day or two; this year we have updated the registration to reflect this possibility. Please review them carefully to make your selection. However if you seek a payment plan option or grant to cover the retreat costs, please email Sidi Rukn al-Din ([email protected]) with your request. 

Please take note of the following travel information:

• The retreat officially starts on Thursday afternoon (this includes meals, majlis, events, and suhbat) and ends by Monday afternoon. However, if you want to arrive the day before to adjust for jetlag or a long flight, we have the option for you to check in on Wednesday evening at no extra charge. Additionally, we have the facility until Tuesday afternoon, and if you would like to stay onsite, for an additional day, you can check out on Tuesday, also at no extra charge. Please note, if you plan to take advantage of the Wednesday evening check-in or the Tuesday afternoon checkout options you will be responsible for arranging your own meals on Wednesday, and Monday afternoon onwards.  
• If you are traveling to DC we recommend you use Lyft/Uber/Taxi to get from any of the three nearby airports:
• • Washington Dulles/IAD (approx. 30-40 mins from venue) 
  • Washington National/DCA (approx. 30-40 mins from venue) 
  • Baltimore Washington/BWI (approx. 60-75 mins from venue)
  • Additionally you can take a Lyft/Uber/Taxi from Union Station if you arrive by train.
