Begun in 1880 at Truro Cathedral and popularized in the twentieth century by King's College, Cambridge, the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is a service of choral music interspersed between lessons which tell the story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus.Join us as the Grace and St. Peter's Choir offers beloved music of the season by Herbert Howells, Cecilia McDowall, Stephen Paulus, and James MacMillan and others and join in heartily for your favorite carols of the season! This service features the world premiere of two new carols by composers Wesley King and Kevin Crouch.
A festive reception will follow in the rectory.
