Every year, the City of Lafayette honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a march and an event organized by the Lafayette Youth Advisory Board (LYAB). The pre-march gathering will take place at the north end patio and lawn of the Lafayette Public Library at 10am, and the march will begin at 10:30am at the north end of the building. This fully accessible, one-mile march will begin at the Library (775 W Baseline Rd) and end at the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center (111 W Baseline Rd). After the march, join the City of Lafayette Youth Advisory Board at the recreation center for breakfast burritos and hot chocolate, speeches and performances from local youth, and a performance by Moses Graytower and the American Spirit. Shuttles will be provided from the Recreation Center back to the Library.
