Dear microbiologists, dear colleagues and students,
The Association for General and Applied Microbiology (VAAM) is delighted to invite you to Bochum for the annual conference 2025! The organizing committee represents the Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), the University Duisburg-Essen (UDE) and the Technical University Dortmund (TUD), which maintain a strategic University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr) since 2007.
We expect the scientific contributions and discussions during our international conference to provide insights and a basis for developing novel perspectives that help tackle current and future challenges. Take the opportunity to meet your colleagues, discuss science with a view into the Ruhr valley, and enjoy an exciting scientific program with the following main topics:

The conference will take place from March 23 – 26, 2025 on the RUB campus in the lively “Ruhrpott”. Make sure you visit the Ruhr area, one of the largest metropolitan areas in Europe. With a history in mining and industry and now transitioning to green economy, it is characterized by cultural diversity and an open mindset!
