Anne Weiss, blues, folk and funk singer-songwriter will be join by the incredible, omni-talented JP Garau on keys and vocals and multifaceted, one and only Julio Appling on 5 string upright bass.
Anne Weiss - Anne has been described as a cross between Janice Joplin and Joni Mitchell (Willamette Week). She is a multi instrumentalist, multi-layered vocalist, funk ukulele player, award winning songwriter and poet with 5 albums to her credit. She and her band create a warm. winning, funny, musically rich show. She studied classical piano, joined a street gang, became a mountaineer, developed a guitar obsession, worked as a political organizer, learned to salsa dance, became addicted to delta blues, sang with a 100-voice gospel choir, and yes, you will hear it all in her music.
Combining soulful blues, acoustic funk, contemporary folk, gospel music, and smatterings of classical phrasing and Latin rhythms, Anne is known for her enormous bluesy voice, great guitar chops, and striking stage presence. She is a standout songwriter who has been covered by many artists.
