About this Event
Hello friends!
The days are slowwwwly getting cooler and soon it will be “Hunkering Season.” For many, that may look like sipping something toasty while reading a great book by a glowing fire. Around here, it looks like moving our furniture out so we can fit y’all in the living room for some fabulous House Concerts for a Cause music and book drive on Saturday December 14th!
And fabulous music means none other than and ! Yep - you read that right. Anne and Natalia both right here at our house doing their magical things and sharing music and mini desserts with us all.
Tickets are available
We completely understand if you need to take a moment right now and preemptively pinch yourselves to make sure it’s all true. We’ve done that several (dozen) times since we started planning this evening nearly 10 months to-the-day-ago! We’ve also had some fun in the meantime. Behold our Reader’s Digest Lightning Round Trivia Tidbits for these two incredible artists:
- Favorite Anne Heaton Review: “Anne’s compelling piano melodies and clearly articulated phrasing remind me of Carole King."
- Anne's Secret Superpowers: Anne has a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction and runs the Soul Songs School, as well as singing and songwriting camps for kids.
- Favorite Natalia Zukerman Review: “Natalia’s voice could send an orchid into bloom while her guitar playing can open a beer bottle with its teeth.”
- Natalia's Secret Superpowers: Natalia is a cultural diplomat for the State Department and paints everything from murals in NYC to pet and people portraits.
But wait - there’s more! In the spirit of doing a little good for the world, we’ll be collecting books for , a pilot school in Dorchester for grades 7-12. Check this out...
We’ve connected with Ms. Urban, an English immersion teacher, whose students have all arrived from Haiti over the past couple years. We’re going to build a mini-library right in her English immersion classroom! The goal here is to encourage students to read and learn the language by having a collection of inspiring books representing their interests and cultures right at their fingertips. Talk about making a direct impact! So so cool, right?
We have a handy dandy Amazon Shopping List to make things really easy. If you make a donation, you can either bring it with you or send it directly to us ahead of our event. (Our mailing address is an option in the shopping list.) If you send books ahead, we’ll include them in our decor.
Here’s our Event Timeline:
7:00pm - doors open. Please note, to allow for artist preparations, we will not be able to accommodate early arrivals so please synchronize your watches!
7:30 - performance begins
9:30 - event ends
And here's the Fine Print:
This is an indoor "living room" event.
We will be serving desserts and non-alcoholic beverages. You are welcome to BYO alcoholic beverages for your own consumption.
If you have food allergies, please let us know so we can be sure to accommodate you.
Portions of the evening may be recorded or photographed for use by Anne Heaton or Natalia Zukerman.
For those affected, we have 2 large dogs in our home. They will be sequestered upstairs.
Attendance is limited and purchases are non-refundable. All ticket proceeds go directly to artists.
Event address will be sent with your order confirmation.
We really hope you’ll be able to join us on Saturday December 14th for this special House Concerts for a Cause evening!
Warmly,
Hillary and Dave
