Ed’s style reflects a lifelong love affair with music, initiated when he saw a live performance by blues guitar giant Stevie Ray Vaughan as a teenager. Now a professional musician for over thirty years, versatility and understatement are linchpins of his musical world, whether playing in a small ensemble jazz format or with any number of New Orleans' blues and funk-driven outfits. His unique take on jazz guitar reflects his wide-ranging influences, and a typical set with his trio will cover Bach chorales, the music of Bill Frisell, George Benson, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Smith, and Hugh Masekela; songbook standards in the vein of Bill Evans, Paul Desmond, and his most profound influence, guitarist Ed Bickert. His extensive repertoire and soulful guitar mastery are sure to satisfy even the most discerning of audiences. Ed's guitar stylings are prominently featured on Anna Laura Quinn's 2022 release, Open the Door.
