On Friday January 23, I will be debuting a new jazz quintet, showcasing some new compositions and featuring music of the great Carla Bley. Wow, what a night. The event will be at the Seattle Jazz Fellowship in Pioneer Square and this is really a happening spot. It really is the best deal in town - if you join for a year at the $60 level, you get into all the events for free. (If you choose to go to one event, it is $20 cover and no drink minimum. This is not a restaurant or even a full bar, but they do serve beer, wine, soft drinks) https://seattlejazzfellowship.org/My group for that night includes the fabulous Jessica Lurie (of Tipton quartet fame and Living Daylights) on alto sax and flute; Tobi Stone (my longtime musical partner) on tenor sax; Geoff Harper on bass (played with him first in the mid-90s); and Chris Icasiano on drums (part of my trio on the NW award winning recording, "Inspired by Women Composers")
