About this Event
In partnership with Literature Ireland.
In 2012, Ann Morgan set herself the goal of reading a book from every country, recording her quest at ayearofreadingtheworld.com and in her first book Reading the World. Twelve years on, she continues to receive messages from readers around the world and reading internationally has become a lifelong endeavour. Among the many things this wide-reaching engagement with the world's books has taught her is the value of embracing not-knowing if we are to have a truly meaningful interaction with stories from elsewhere: the world is too vast for any one person to be an expert in all of its stories. This might feel daunting, but embracing not-knowing can be an enriching, surprising, playful and transformative thing, as she explores in her forthcoming book, Relearning to Read. Ann shares how reimagining reading has helped reshape her idea of her self and her world. Join Ann in conversation with Sinéad Mac Aodha, Director of Literature Ireland.
