Get ready for the 5th edition of animatex, Egypt’s biggest annual animation event! Since 2020, animatex has been a hub for creativity and exchange within the Egyptian animation scene. From February 20 to 25, 2025, the festival returns to AUC Cultural Center with over 10 feature films and 100 short films from around the world, alongside artist talks, workshops, and masterclasses. The Austrian Cultural Forum is thrilled to present Anna Vasof, an Austria-based transmedia artist known for her bold, experimental approach to animation. Anna will be a festival highlight, hosting a masterclass, workshop, and talk, where she shares her unique perspective on animated image creation and storytelling.

‘Non Stop Stop Motion’
This masterclass plus film screening unfolds across fourteen film chapters—from Misunderstanding to Everything is an Excuse—tracing Anna Vasof’s journey through both success and failure in her quest to understand the mechanics of motion and cinematography. Along the way, she explores new ways of storytelling, pushing the boundaries of animation and visual narrative.

A b o u t
Anna Vasof is an architect, media, and time-based artist. She studied architecture at the University of Thessaly (2010) in Greece and Transmedia Art (2014) at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Since 2004, her videos and short movies have been presented in several festivals, some winning distinctions. In 2023, she was awarded the Outstanding Artist Award (Experimental Film) by the Federal Ministry of Education and Culture in Austria. In 2020, she completed her Ph.D. thesis on a cinematographic technique she developed titled 'Non Stop Stop Motion'. She is currently working on designing innovative mechanisms for producing critical videos, films, actions, and installations.

انيماتكس مهرجان الرسوم المتحركة
استعدوا للدورة الخامسة لـ 'انيماتكس' أكبر حدث سنوي للرسوم المتحركة بمصر. منذ عام ۲٠۲٠ يمثل انيماتكس ملتقى للابداع و التبادل الفني لصناعة الرسوم المتحركة بمصر وخلال الفترة من ۲٠ الي ۲٥ فبراير يعود المهرجان الى المركز الثقافي للجامعة الامريكية حيث يتم عرض أكثر من ۱٠ أفلام طويلة و ۱٠٠ فيلم قصير من جميع أنحاء العالم بجانب محاضرات فنية و ورش عمل وماستر كلاس
يتشرف المركز الثقافي النمساوي بتقديم آنا فازوف وهي فنانة ترانس ميديا مقيمة بالنمسا و معروفة بأسلوبها الجريء في مجال الرسوم المتحركة. وسوف تمثل آنا علامة مميزة للمهرجان حيث سوف تقوم بتقديم ماستر كلاس و ورشة عمل و محاضرة حيث سوف تقوم بالتحدث عن تصورها الفريد فيما يختص بالصور المتحركة والسرد القصصي

من خلال ۱٤ فصل سينمائي حيث يتم متابعة رحلة آنا فازوف بين النجاح و الفشل في سعيها لفهم آليات الحركة و التصوير السينمائي. و سوف تقوم باستعراض طرق جديدة للسرد القصصي و إعادة تعريف حدود الرسوم المتحركة و السرد البصري

عن آنا فازوف
آنا فازوف مهندسة معمارية و فنانة في مجال الميديا. لقد قامت بدراسة الهندسة المعمارية بجامعة تيسلي باليونان ( ۲٠۱٠) و الترانس ميديا بجامعة الفنون التطبيقية بفيينا ( ۲٠۱٤)
ومنذ عام ۲٠۱٤ تم تقديم أفلامها القصيرة بالعديد من المهرجانات حصلت بعضها على جوائز مرموقة. وفي عام ۲٠۲٣ حصلت على جائزة الفنان المتميز من وزارة التعليم و الثقافة بالنمسا. وفي عام ۲٠۲٠ أتمت رسالة الدكتوراه في تقنية التصوير السينمائي بعنوان الحركة المستمرة لتقنية إيقاف الحركة وهي حاليا تعمل على تصميم آليات مبتكرة لانتاج مقاطع فيديو و أفلام و أعمال تركيبية
