About this Event
WHAT IS THIS EVENT AND WHO IS IT FOR?
This event is aimed at young Catholic adults (18-30) in the Leeds Diocese. Whether you are a regular mass goer or not, you will be very welcome to join in this exploration of how faith intertwines with action to care for our planet and overcome social injustice.
We will do this in creative ways as well as introducing you to some leadership skills useful both in social activism and in a wider context, including the workplace.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN DURING THIS DAY?
Michelle Scally-Clarke is a Leeds based poet who will be with us all day leading a workshop and a creative evaluation. Aisling Griffin works for Pax Christi nationally and will lead a workshop on protest art. Graham Brownlee from Leeds Citizens Organising will introduce you to some ways of developing your listening and persuasion skills. You will also hear from those who have been involved for years in these issues and what motivates them to carry on. You will meet other like minded young adults and connect to take action together.

A buffet lunch will be provided.
Wheeler Hall is in central Leeds and getting there by public transport is recommended. It is a 5 minute walk from Leeds station and 7-8 minutes from the central bus station.

This day is free to attend. If you need to cancel, then please give us as much notice as possible. Spaces are limited and we need to be able to offer cancelled places to other people.
