What's your favorite animal? A dog? A cat? A hedgehog? A frog? Sign up for this clay workshop to learn how to create a container to hold a plant - then alter your piece to look like the animal of your choosing. Call the studio at 931-503-3024 or stop in to register. Spots are limited, so sign up today!
Participants taking the class will learn the basic techniques required to create a clay planter. They will then add clay parts to their base piece to make it look like an animal. Participants should come away from the class with an understanding of clay materials and tools that can be used in altering ceramics. While first-time participants will learn the basics, the instructor will allow the opportunity for those with more experience to expand upon their known techniques and gain "tricks-of-the-trade" to improve their skills.
THIS IS NOT A POTTERY WHEEL CLASS.
During the 1.5-hour class, participants will make a project that will be allowed to dry at the studio and will be fired in the kiln. After two weeks, participants will return to paint their pieces.
