Animal Liberation March 2023: Fight for the Right to Rescue

Unite with hundreds of justice advocates from around the world and call for all animals’ right to be rescued from distress or exploitation!
Part of the 2023 Animal Liberation Conference, this powerful Animal Liberation March will move through the streets of San Francisco with bright colors, signs, banners, smoke flares, dance, drums and more in the spirit of celebrating the future for which we are fighting. Your presence, voice and heart are all crucial to its success! (learn more and register at liberationconference.com)
The event will kick off with a rally that will feature guest speakers and a safety briefing before we hit the streets to elevate the stories of animals and the futures they deserve. A support vehicle with water and wheelchairs will trail behind to help those in need of a break while supplies last and attendees are welcome to disengage from the march at any time.
Please RSVP now and if you’d like to attend the rest of the Animal Liberation Conference as well, please register here.
Thank you!
Note: We strongly encourage everyone to take public transit/BART to the meeting location. If you're BARTing you must have a Clipper Card (which you can buy at the station) or download the Clipper Card app on your phone. The 16th St Mission station is closest to the park where we'll meet. If you are driving, there is public parking around the park but it can be hard to find a spot. Do not leave anything in your car, especially anything of value, but even items of no value could be enough for someone to break the window.
If you are coming to the march from the Animal Liberation Conference in Berkeley make sure to up Clipper card in Google Wallet or Apple Wallet on your phone with a balance of at least $9.20 for a round trip from Downtown Berkeley BART to 16th Mission BART. (The Clipper app cannot be used to ride transit—you must use Clipper in your mobile wallet to pay transit fares.)

Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) is a grassroots network of animal rights activists. Through open rescue, demonstration, and disruption, we help build a world where every animal is safe, happy and free. In October 2022, DxE activists won the first-ever “not guilty” verdict for an open rescue case in the #SmithfieldTrial. Just five months later, we won the second acquittal for open rescue in the #FosterFarmsTrial. These acquittals were major wins for the right to rescue, but our work is far from over. We have more trials coming up and we need your help to use these cases to spark a revolution for animal rescue and animal rights.
DxE cultivates a welcoming and supportive community. We ask that all those who attend our events (online and offline) respect our Code of Conduct which can be reviewed at dxe.io/conduct.
