At this special ceremony, the Buddhist Temple of Toledo rings out a season of intense Zen practice. The ceremony is free and open to the public. Beginners are always welcome, please arrive at 10:00 for Zen Meditation for Beginners class.This Ango Closing Ceremony will also include a Shuso Hossen ceremony for BTT postulant, Kensei who has been serving as Chief Disciple in preparation. The Shuso Hossen Ceremony is the final step in the process of becoming a senior student in Zen training.
As a participant in the ceremony, you will have the opportunity to hear a short Dharma Talk from Kensei and to encounter the matter together with her one-on-one in a public exchange called Dharma Combat.
The ceremony will be followed with a joyful celebration and an opportunity to express gratitude and congratulations for Kensei.
