Come to our free drop-in event, suitable for all ages on Wednesday, 9 April 2025, between 10 AM and 4 PM.Step back in time and discover the world of the Anglo-Saxons at Christchurch Mansion! Join costumed interpreters as they bring Ipswich Museum’s Anglo-Saxon artefacts to life. Get up close to real objects from our collections and explore different aspects of Anglo-Saxon life through hands-on replicas and demonstrations.
Embark on the free Question Quest trail, where you’ll decode runes hidden around the Mansion to uncover more about Anglo-Saxon East Anglia. This event also offers a special preview of some items set to feature in the redeveloped High Street museum. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience history firsthand!
Disabled parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis at Christchurch Park carpark via Bolton Lane. There is wheelchair access to the ground floor only at Christchurch Mansion. Live interpretation is based on the ground floor, but the trail incorporates the first-floor areas.
