Angkor Classique is Cambodia’s only regularly performing classical music ensemble. Formed by Leo Salazar (US), Neil Sharpe (UK) and Miri Cho (South Korea) we present to our audiences the music of the Western Baroque period: Haydn, Beethoven and Mozart, among others.
Angkor Classique was started as a modern music ensemble, the Pierrot Ensemble. A small group of musicians from Europe and the US gathered to explore classical music, and the instrumentation and interests steered us toward the music of Arnold Schoenberg. With a gradual turnover of personnel combined with demand from the market, the group has gravitated towards baroque music.
Whether being featured artists onstage in front of a dedicated audience, or providing pleasant background music for events, Angkor Classique is the number one classical music ensemble. Traveling to exclusive locations throughout SE Asia is also an option.
You can usually find Angkor Classique performing in and around Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, Cambodia.
