When we experience emotions like anger, from the subtlest irritation to the most intense fury, it clouds the clarity of our minds and disturbs the harmony of our relationships. These emotions appear to arise from various sources – the challenges we face in our professional lives, the pressures of daily existence, and even our interactions with those closest to our hearts, including our family and partners. Despite the frequency with which we encounter these feelings, many of us do not actively seek to overcome them.
In this half day course, we will explore how to first recognize the presence of anger within our minds, how to truly understand the depth of its impact on both ourselves and others, and how to cultivate patience to overcome anger. This virtuous quality allows us to maintain a state of peace and freedom from anger, even amidst life’s trials.
We warmly invite you to spend a morning immersed in the profound practices of Kadampa Buddhism, dedicated to overcoming anger and nurturing a patient, peaceful mind. This course is open to all, regardless of one’s experience or background. Everyone is welcome.
Each session will consist of short teachings, prayers and meditations with refreshments between sessions.
$25. Please pre-register. Payment can also be made at the door at class time. If you would like to pay on arrival send an email to [email protected] to let us know you will attend.
