Join Ancora as we contemplate and celebrate the presence of angels in our lives: when we are downtrodden, when we are joyous, in the deep forests, and at the manger. Joining Ancora is cellist Rosemary DeLuca for our featured work, Sarah Quartel’s Snow Angel, which also includes narration by loved ones of the choir. No concert about angels would be complete without John Rutter’s Angels’ Carol and Candlelight Carol, along with carols celebrating donkeys, birds, and of course, sheep. The choir will also perform Tomas Luis de Victoria’s stunning O Magnum Mysterium, an introspective work invoking the humility of the Nativity and the creatures who bore witness. There will be an opportunity for our audience to join the choir as we sing Hark the Herald Angels - so bring your best descant singing with you!
