“Throughlines and Transcendence”: This hour-long recital presents a clutch of unusual, virtuosic, Bach-inspired works by Ferruccio Busoni (his scintillating Toccata, a cult favorite), Gabriel Pierné, and Dmitri Shostakovich (his second sonata).
