Andrew is one of the most popular musicians that plays for us
and is always so entertaining.
He is not only a great song writer and vocalist but also an amazing guitar player.
He is always ably assisted by Kirsten on bass and back up vocals as well as occasional lead vocals.
She also reminds him of the words and the correct key every now and then.
This is not only a great show for the music but also a bit of social commentary and loads of humor.
A fantastic show to bring your friends and family along to, a bit of something for everyone.
Andrew London’s quirky songs will make you laugh out loud as you recognise yourself and every-one around you, and all the prejudices, obsessions and weird little habits we put out on display, every day, in this funny little country.
There are songs about politics, social status, shopping habits, teenagers, coffee, neighbours and small town protocol. And insights into the unpredictable and tenuous lives of traveling musicians, based on having played a thousand gigs from the woolsheds of Central Otago to the board rooms of Queen Street.
Andrew’s songs have contributed to popular trio Hot Club Sandwich, country band The Cat-tlestops, and numerous collaborations at jazz, blues, folk, country and arts festivals from Queens-town to Auckland, Melbourne to Norfolk Island and Sydney to Saudi Arabia.
His current show ‘Songs I Wrote When I Was Cross’ sees the duo tighter than ever, the songs more concise, with the accent on occasionally acerbic satire, self-deprecating humour and astonishing wordsmithery. Andrew’s partner Kirsten provides bass guitar, vocals and counselling.
‘I’ve never seen anyone sing so many words, so fast, without swallowing his own tongue. These guys are Flight of The Conchords for Rest Homes’ said a Radio NZ caretaker.
Come and have a laugh at yourself.
