Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.'s Youth Symposium is a 1-day program consisting of a series of workshops designed to address issues and opportunities related to STEM, Health/Wellness, Social Action/Justice, Education and Career Planning, Financial Literacy, and Culture. Nationwide, Chapters present a unified effort to support our youth in-person through impactful, educational, inspiring, and engaging programming for youth.
The Eta Nu Sigma Alumnae chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is hosting their annual Youth Symposium in-person at P.S / I.S 178 St Clair McKelway School, 2163 Dean Street, Brooklyn NY 11233 on Saturday, March 08, 2025 8:30am-2pm. This symposium addresses issues that impact our youth today with a focus on empowering them educationally, civically, socially, physically, and emotionally. Workshops will be filled with interactive education encompassing “Healthy Living, Healthy Lifestyles, Healthy Choices” in areas such as STEM, Mental Health Awareness, cultural and social awareness, and both college and career planning.
Invited guests include: Senator Kevin S.Parker, Senator Roxanne J. Persaud, Senator Zellnor Myrie, Assemblywoman Latrice L Walker, Councilwomen Rita Joseph, Farah Louis, Darlene Mealy; Supreme Court Judges Sharen D. Hudson and Robin Sheares; and District 23 Community Superintendent Khalek Kirkland.
