Plaster is something that we are all familiar with, it covers our walls around our homes. But did you know we can paint with it too?! In this class, participants will be instructed in something I have been experimenting with for some time on my gallery ready pieces. As an artist i love to experiment with my pieces and to be honest have never lived inside the box so here is a fun class to learn a skill that i have been perfecting for some time now.
On day 1 participants will learn how to sketch, mix molding paste, and mold a 3D plaster flower on canvas. I will teach you how to prepare the plaster paste from scratch, what the right consistency needed is, how to prep a canvas for plaster, and how to mold a 3D flower using a pallet knife and brushes.
On day 2 participants will taught how to add small details to our dried work, giving the composition a little more depth. Once detailed participants will be encouraged to paint their pieces in their preferred color and embellish it with gold or copper to help emphasize the 3D wildflowers.
This class is recommended for participants 12 and over with lots of patience as this project is tedious but oh so amazing to see come to life!
Challenge yourself to try something new and create with something you may not have thought you could!
