"Barren upon first glance, harsh desert scapes reveal unassuming depth. Objects that once lived or that were once valued, lost, discarded, and found again represent blips in time. Relics in the liminal space of what was and what is contain tangible grief and awe. Incorporating, experimenting and using a myriad of objects sheathed with eco-dyed silk, cold wax, encaustic, and embellished in assemblage, this exhibition reminisces on the vibrancy of life that once was.
“What Remains” gives pause and contemplates impermanence and prolonging elements destined for decay with both a reckoning for their loss and a fleeting preservation of their legacy."
