Join the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) Detroit Sustainability Clinic's Urban Sustainability & Justice Faculty Fellow, Dr. Alesia Montgomery of the UCLA's Insitute of the Environment and Sustainability for her talk,"Waging Love" for the Earth in aΒ Fascist Climate: Placekeeping in Detroit, Oakland, and Los Angeles. Dr. Montgomery's lecture will address the challenges of environmental justice work and climate activism at this political moment, framing it within a history of placekeeping by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
Lunch and networking will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by the lecture and Q&A from 12:30β1:30 PM. You must register to have your lunch confirmed. Please email [email protected] if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions.
π Location: UM Detroit Center, Dearborn Room
π Parking: Free parking available at DSO structure located directly behind the UM Detroit Center. Visitors will need to take a ticket when entering into the structure. Parking can be validated at the front desk of the center when you are signing in for your meeting/event space.
