Join us with Professor Welsh who will present about the 150th anniversary of the establishment of western water policy and Greeley’s role and significance in it. He co-authored "Confluence: The Story of Greeley Water" with Colorado State Supreme Court Justice Gregory Hobbs. The City of Greeley Water and Sewer Department asked him to update the study to address important features of its work over the past five years. The updated volume is scheduled to come out in the summer of 2026.About the Presenter:
Dr. Michael Welsh has taught as a professor of history at University of Northern Colorado (UNC) since 1990 about the American West, Colorado, Native history and the role of the environment in shaping our region. His publications include book-length studies of several National Park Service units, most recently Big Bend National Park: Mexico, the United States, and a Borderland Ecosystem.
