Ever since Eve was a girl, women have illuminated truths, shifted shame, and elevated voices through the human art of storytelling. Join us at ‘The Feminist School’ as we continue this tradition through collaborating on works of poetry, spoken word, and film making. We will use these mediums to speak the things we cannot say and call out the systems that seek to silence us.The powerful exhibition These Stories Will be Different will be our setting in this after hours workshop. Zanny Begg (the artist herself) will be there to close a narrative chapter in her artistic life and encourage us to dig deep and tell our stories.
Three local creatives will facilitate this flexible, supportive, and collaborative workshop where you will leave with a ‘redacted’ poem of your own, a performance and film, and your cauldron lit.
Women and gender diverse folks ages 18+ of all experience levels are welcome to join.
Bring nothing but your truth, and a willingness to explore what feminism means for you.
