Join us as we learn about the English translation of new novel The Exodus of Hendrik Peter Scholte. Author Michiel Van Diggelen tells the story, based on all available historic resources, of a man of flesh and blood, full of strengths and weaknesses. He will talk about the writing process, combining fact and fiction through imagination. Scholte and Van Raalte, brothers in the Afscheiding in the Netherlands, will be discussed and compared.
Joining Michiel will be Bruce Boertje from Pella, Iowa. Bruce is a researcher, historian, and presenter, a Central College graduate, President of the Pella Preservation Trust, a member of Pella’s Historic Preservation Commission, and a volunteer at the Pella Historic Museum.
This event is hosted in partnership with the Pella Public Library.
