The Hip Hop History: A Cultural Celebration continues with "The Business of Hip Hop", a lecture by Dr. Daryl A Carter which will discuss economic issues within the Hip Hop industry. ⭐️ETSU's Dr. Daryl Carter serves as Professor of History, Director of Black American Studies, and Associate Dean for Equity and Inclusion. Carter’s area of expertise is 20th and 21st century American political history, including the intersections of race, class and gender and how they impact American political history. His scholarship is diverse and wide-ranging. Carter is the author of Brother Bill: President Clinton and the Politics of Race and Class, which was published by the University of Arkansas Press in 2016.
The 2nd Annual HIP HOP HISTORY: A Cultural Celebration is presented by the Black American Studies Program & the Reece Museum. Carter's lecture is part of a series of scheduled events that will celebrate and recognize important contributions that Hip Hop has made to art and culture. “This partnership and collaborative exercise highlight the importance of Black Americans and their contributions to America, especially in Appalachia." -Dr. Daryl A.
