For the final concert of our 55th Anniversary Season, the Bach Chamber Choir is thrilled to perform the sacred, exuberant and ambitious "Solemn Vespers" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on April 27, 3 pm, at beautiful St. Jude the Apostle Parish (734 Glenview Ave.) in Wauwatosa - with sensational orchestra! This is one of Mozart's most significant choral works, rarely performed in Milwaukee. 🎼Additionally, you'll enjoy moving selections that so perfectly complement the masterwork - including:
🎶 "The Heavens are Telling" by Haydn
🎶 "Arise, My Soul, Arise" by Dan Forrest
🎶 "O Love" by Elaine Hagenberg
🎶 "Sure on This Shining Night" by Morten Lauridsen
🎶 "Ave Verum Corpus" by Mozart
🎶 "Cantique de Jean Racine" by Gabriel Fauré
Our wonderful soloists are Joel Aldinger, John Burgermeister, Carol Kennedy, Jenifer McGill, Kurt Ohlinger, Samantha Scantlin, Shannon Sweeney, David Wihowski and Aissa Zielinski.
Ms. Scantlin is the soloist in the famous, luscious and sublimely beautiful 𝘓𝘢𝘶𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘋𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘮 - movement five of Mozart's "Solemn Vespers." It alone is one of Mozart's masterpieces! His love of the eloquent soprano voice is amply displayed in long, luxurious lines over a simple, guitar-like accompaniment. TRULY EXQUISITE, and something to experience live!
You do NOT want to miss this exuberant, joyous, hopeful concert, directed by Artistic Director Jonathan Kim and accompanied by Johanna Brahm!
Discounted tickets are available in advance for $18 at
www.bachchoirmilwaukee.com. Tickets are $20 at the door. For student/group rates, contact us at [email protected].
We look forward to celebrating the extraordinary final performance of our 55th Anniversary season with you!
