Shalom b’Harim שָׁלוֹם בֶּהָרִים – Peace in the Mountains – would like to invite our multiple faith neighbors to learn about our Jewish beliefs and traditions by participating in an experiential Shabbat (Sabbath) service on Saturday, November 22, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Unity of Gainesville, 3415 Stancil Road in Gainesville. Our synagogue is committed to building relationships and fellowship together with the diverse, wider faith community throughout the North Georgia Mountains. We are inclusive of all who wish to be part of our thriving, enriching Jewish community, committed to the principles and Jewish values of Tikkun Olam תִּיקּוּן עוֹלָם – “repairing the world.”
During our service, our Rabbi (Rabbi Matan Peled) will lead us in worship while explaining the components of the service and what they mean. We invite you to experience our worship service, ask questions, and celebrate Shabbat שַׁבָּת with us. A light dessert reception will follow the service.
In keeping with our commitment to Tikkun Olam תִּיקּוּן עוֹלָם, we encourage everyone to bring a donation of canned fruit for Georgia Mountain Food Bank. Given the challenges facing our communities right now, your donations to the Food Bank are more important than ever. Monetary donations are always appreciated.
