Interested in learning more about decorated sugar cookies?! Kat's Crafted Cookies is here to help! In this 2-hour class at Humble Stitch , we'll cover the basics to sugar cookies (so – yes, it’s beginner friendly!), do some piping practice with Royal Icing, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! Then we decorate!
We’ll be decorating a "Sew Much Fun" themed set, perfect for anyone who loves to sew or has loved someone who sews. Bring your mom, aunt, friend or just bring yourself for a great time relaxing and having fun with the most delicious seamstress inspired cookies!
Everything you'll need is provided in class along with a live in-person instructor, Me, Kathy from Kat's Crafted Cookies! Just bring a smile (and maybe an apron). Come early to browse the inventory at Humble Stitch . They carry the highest quality supplies and materials, with a focus on items exclusively available to independent yarn and fabric shops. They also offer classes in many fiber disciplines, including quilting, sewing, crochet, knitting, embroidery, rug hooking, and cross stitch.
You'll leave class with a great understanding of the basics of sugar cookies plus a few cool techniques we'll cover in class! More details on refunds, things to bring, credits, and FAQs are on the registration page.
About this Class
This class is for the beginner cookier or for the person who is just curious about what cookie decorating is all about! If you have limited experience with sugar cookies, found yourself frustrated with royal icing, or if you're trying to have fun with family or friends, this is the class for you! We will be doing a "Sew Much Fun" themed set that tastes amazing and will look even better once you’ve completed your decorating!
We provide everything you will need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in - we just need YOU! Each to-be-decorator gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! Everything is prepped right before class – so no baking or icing mixing required. Just decorate!
This class is on May 19, 2024 and starts at 10 :00 am sharp so we can have enough time to decorate and answer questions along the way. Come by yourself or bring some friends - we have seating for up to 12 people! It's a blast whether you're coming with friends and family, or solo!
It's best to leave the kiddos at home for this class, but you can purchase a "take-home" kit (more on that below) to take home! The kits are great for kids at home, plus - we'll send you the class PowerPoint so you can teach them yourself!
The class will be held at Humble Stitch located at 2 North 2nd St., Newport, PA. Nervous about the parking situation? Don’t be! Parking is pretty easy with spaces right in front of the shop and around the town square.
