A movement, not an election. In this feature film documentary, Proposition Amanecer chronicles the history of the El Paso Climate Charter (Prop K). This May 2023 election transformed the political landscape of El Paso, Texas. Through a mosaic of testimonial interviews, this film recounts the story of this controversial ballot initiative: how the organization "Sunrise El Paso" proposed a vision, how it inspired a mass movement, how it threatened Big Oil corporations to the core, and how it resulted in the birth of "Amanecer People's Project."
