This month we’re spotlighting “Misfit Grapes” – unusual varietals you’ve probably never heard of but absolutely should know.We’ll taste four wines from underdog grapes with bold stories: maybe something from Uruguay’s signature Tannat, an obscure Italian varietal, a cold-climate surprise, or an experimental American find. Each pour comes with its misfit story – why this grape almost disappeared, why nobody grows it, and why it’s thriving against the odds.
As we taste, we’ll explore the theme “New Year, New Grapes” with conversation prompts at each table: something you want to try for the first time in 2026, a place you want to go, a skill you want to pick up, and something you want to do differently. No pressure to share beyond your table – just a chance to connect over wine and fresh starts.
We’re shifting our format this month to classic wine bar style: artisan cheese and bread pairings plus dessert. Perfect for cleansing your palate between pours and letting these bold, unusual wines shine.
