About this Event
This class will help students explore the intricate world of paper quilling, an ancient crafting technique that has been appreciated by cultures across the globe for centuries.
We will cover basic paper quilling techniques and shapes via a hands-on paper art project. A slotted quilling tool will be used to make tight and loose paper coils. These coils will be manipulated into more complex shapes and glued together to create a beautifully intricate paper snowflake that students will bring home with them after the class.
All tools and materials will be provided by the instructor, but feel free to bring your own tools if you prefer to work with them.
While not required, I highly recommend reviewing the following videos before class in order to help you pick up on the techniques demonstrated during class more quickly. The videos cover the tools and materials required for paper quilling, as well as techniques used to make tight and loose coils, the foundational shapes of the artform.
