This retreat is perfect for the passionate creative and those interested in colour, art licensing and surface pattern design. Rachael and Georgie will guide you in discovering your unique artistic style, learning about key pattern design techniques by experimenting with Winsor & Newton Watercolours, choosing colour palettes, mastering the fundamentals of motif development, balance and contrast, pattern placement, print layout and hand creating repeat patterns. You will be given an introduction in how to capture and digitize your artwork, exploring and unlocking new possibilities for your designs. Rachael and Georgie love inspiring passionate creatives to explore the wonderful world of surface pattern design. Unleash your creativity in a friendly and supportive environment suitable for all experience levels, especially beginners. We are excited to announce that we have a wonderful line up of guest speakers for this Art Retreat, including Chole from Next State Print to talk all things digital fabric printing . Each brings unique expertise and insights that promise to make this event truly exceptional.
We have Pete Cromer. Pete Cromer is a designer, illustrator, surface pattern designer and happy art creator based on Victoria’s Surf Coast. With a Bachelors Degree in Visual Communication, Pete Cromer set off with creativity on his mind, working for Hallmark Cards Australia and a number of kids based companies before going solo in 2014. Pete’s work is renowned for his signature bursts of glowing colour and beautiful textures, all reflected in his bold collages, paintings and sculptures. His vibrant work including limited edition prints, greeting cards, cement and resin sculptures, enamel pins and more. Pete Cromer has sold out galleries of work before opening night, licensed his designs to national homewares brand Maxwell & Williams, Erstwilder, designed a UooUoo for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation and illustrated multiple books on Australian Wildlife.
We also have Faye from Mama Movement - Colourful inclusive Australian activewear | Mama Movement. Faye Tan, is the owner of Mama Movement, an Melbourne activewear label that would inspire women to celebrate their bodies with colour. Mama Movement is a sustainable, colourful and high-performance activewear brand that features Australian artists and celebrates self-love and community. Customers rave about how Mama Movement clothing brings them joy, motivates them to move, and makes them feel more body confident than they have ever felt before. Mama Movement collaborate with female Australian artists on the colourful prints they feature on their activewear.

Retreat Timing: Workshops doors open each day from 8:45am for a 9am sharp start, then finish at 4pm each day. Morning tea & Lunch are provided both days along with all day coffee & tea making facilities in the Workshop room.
Cost: $556.20 (inc. event booking fees)
