About this Event
FEED YOUR FACE - WHILE WE FEED YOUR BRAIN!
The Bell is excited to offer a series of lunches and lectures to senior citizens, 55 and over. Once a month a lively lecture will be given by a local speaker (on a wide range of topics) to be followed by a light lunch, a sandwich, drink, and cookies. We’ve set the price for this at an affordable $7.00, so that as many people can take advantage of this entertaining opportunity- ‘To Lunch and to Learn’.
We kick off our first season of "Out to Lunch"with local speaker Marc Blau who will give a riveting talk , How My Parents Escaped the Holocaust. The Blaus' were a young Jewish couple living in Vienna just as the Nazi takeover of Germany began.
The Blaus escape to America is a fascinating story and in this time of racial unrest, a meaningful reminder of how dangerous living without compassion can be.
Marc Blau taught Social Studies in the Bangor school system for 30 years before retiring. He is now a board member and officer of the Slate Belt Heritage Museum in Bangor.
