About this Event
Our Places Our Stories Zine Workshop
Come join us for the first in a series of free zine workshops where we celebrate the vibrant stories and historic locations of Montreal's Afro-descendent Anglophone communities! This in-person event hosted at La Petite Librairie D+Q will be led by Montreal artist Kezna Dalz with material from jazz historian Andy Williams. We will discover some of the key figures and places from Montreal's "Golden Era" of jazz in the 1920s-50s. Whether you're a seasoned zine maker or new to the scene, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to get inspired, explore storytelling, and connect with others. The zines created by participants will also be shared at Expozine Montreal, taking place on November 23rd and 24th.
Please note that this workshop series is a space intended for Afrodescendent participants.
